Sofa deconstruction in association with Flintshire County Council.

One of Refurbs primary aims is to make people aware of the benefits of reusing and recycling. The sofa deconstruction project in partnership with Flintshire County Council is a key part of this aim.

Residents of Flintshire County can take their unwanted furniture such as sofas to their local Household Recycling Centre (HRC). The items of furniture are stored and then collected by the Refurbs team.

Working out of the Oakenholt site the team of 4 deconstruct the sofas so the individual materials that the sofas are comprised of can be recycled separately or reused in other Refurbs projects ;

  • Textiles
  • Metal
  • Wood

The team are currently also deconstructing bed frames and are working with Flintshire County Council to offer this service on other household furniture items.
