Second-hand September was launched in 2019 to encourage people to buy pre-loved items, something we have been doing at Refurbs Flint since 2002.

Refurbs offer affordable, quality household appliances and furniture which has been preloved. Choosing to buy second hand items allows you to furnish your home for less, joining the preloved movement, reducing the amount sent to landfill and reducing the carbon footprint associated with buying new items.

Second-hand September was started in 2019 by Oxfam, a charitable organisation tackling inequality, to encourage people to buy only second-hand items for the duration of the month. The aim of this campaign is to bring awareness to climate change and promote the benefits of purchasing recycled and reconditioned items.

Donating to or buying from local charities such as Refurbs not only enables us to provide support and services to communities across North Wales, but it also prevents hundreds of tonnes of waste going to landfill. Reusing and recycling these items rather than sending them to landfill helps reduce global warming and in turn tackle climate change.

Amy Clearly Operations Manager at Refurbs Flint said: “Here at Refurbs we are excited to champion recycling and reusing. We’d love for you to come down and see what great value for money we have on offer here”.

Refurbs Flint can be found on the Aber Park Industrial Estate and boasts three large showrooms full of affordable, quality household appliances and furniture. So, whether you are looking for a sofa, kitchen table, wardrobe, washing machine, fridge or fridge freezer Refurbs Flint will have something to suit your needs.

So, what do you say? Will you be buying only second-hand this month?
